Mission Roots is a group of lower mission district dwellers dedicated to removing concrete sidewalks and installing mini-gardens in order to enhance beauty and wildlife habitat, dicourage grafitti and dumping, and slow storm water runoff. The group is currently conducting outreach and fundraising, and well as creating landscaping plans. Altogether Mission Roots intends to transform 2,867 square feet of concrete into gardens.
